In the beginning, noticing the difficulty to find a solution in the rubber manufacturing market, the founders started to produce the product they needed. This change of course resulted in a company that is the reference in Brazil and worldwide.

Until now, there were many new products and, nowadays, Autotravia develops sealing solutions for automotive and industrial segments, with strength in the aftermarket and in servicing assemblers. Between all the products produced from rubber and thermoplastic, we can highlight bielastomers, solid and spongy rubber, adhesive profile, window seals, channel and flocked beltlines.

With an attentive look for the company sustainability and the highest quality in the products we deliver, without ever ceasing to prioritize safety, Autotravi is growing healthily. With solid values, our brand reaches more than 20 countries and is opening new markets.

1945
The beginning of a dream
On February 27th, 1945, the company “Travi, Grillo e Cia Ltda” was founded, whose founders were Nilo Travi, Ângelo Grillo, Francisco Casara, Marcos Travi and Otarino Travi. Initially, the company manufactured sweets (marmalades) and, in parallel, began to operate in the soap segment (1947). Subsequently, the company began to work in the yerba mate segment (1954) and then also in the wood segment (1956).
1967
The beginning of rubber manufacturing
From a problem with a shock absorber, which occurred on a trip, came the idea that would change the company’s story. Using only an emery machine, the founders started to transform old tires into small round discs and, in 1967, they launched the small but profitable “Autotravi Manufaturas de Borrachas Ltda”. 
1968
The plastic unit
In 1968, in view of the high potential of the plastics market, the founders created the unit “Autotravi Plásticos”. A while later, around 1982, it had a change of name, and the company started being called “Autotravi Borrachas e Plásticos Ltda.”. 
2011
The split
The rubber and plastic businesses walked together until 2011, when the split happened. “Autotravi Plásticos” was renamed “Travi Plásticos Ltda” and ceased to belong to the previous company. Our company followed with the brand rights and started being called “Autotravi Borrachas e Plásticos Eireli”, a vanguard industry that accompanied the growth and development of the metal-mechanic hub of Caxias do Sul. 
2016
The new factory
In 2016, “Autotravi Borrachas e Plásticos” moved to a new industrial park. The modern structure, with more than 10.000m² and production capacity of 600 tons of rubber per month, marks a new moment in the company’s history, that keeps growing and overcomes challenges. 
2025
The 80th Anniversary
On its 80th anniversary, Autotravi transitions from Ltda to S.A., demonstrating its increasing professionalism, and introduces a new visual identity to the market. The brand was designed to connect the past and the future, symbolizing a company that is already mature but still retains its freshness and desire to innovate.
